Following the selection of Beowulf in our Grade 12 British Literature textbook, there was a one-page parody called "Beocat". My students didn't get it at all, but I was highly amused at the antics of said ferocious feline, bobbing for nest-booty and hunting Hrodents.
These photos show posters that I used to show some modern-day Beowulfs: Spiderman and Indiana Jones. OK, so maybe I just wanted a poster of Harrison Ford in my room! The papers surrounding Indy are more versions of the text-message activity.
